All the Same

The more I look I see that there’s nothing
I’m just a young woman with dreams
and I’m standing at a fictional doorway
no start, no end and nothing between

I look to the west, I look to the east
I’m standing at the crossroads
but it’s all the same to me

She says she’s chosen a path
and they’ve told me I’m on the right track
But you know what I think
I think that they’re lying
because I think we’re bigger than that

I look to the west, I look to the east
I’m standing at the crossroads
with dust on my feet
I look to the hills, I look to the sea
I’m standing at the crossroads
but it’s all the same to me

So why don’t we tear up the tracks
Let the grasses grow over the path
And I’m there in the clearing
lost but I’m found
I’m there in the ending
right back where I began
